Parrots at Play Calendar 2010

There are many non-profit avian organizations around the country that are working hard to help birds; whether through education, rescue and adoption services, or conservation. The Parrots At Play Calendar is designed to help. All net proceeds from calendar sales are donated to non-profit avian organizations. Part of the purchase price is donated to help a bird. You can help by simply buying a calendar!

The calendar is a wall calendar 17 inches high x 11 inches wide and is printed on high quality paper on a four-color printing press. The artwork is colorful and vibrant. It's a calendar that any animal lover will enjoy! It makes a great Christmas gift.

Each year the calendar cover features a Poster Parrot whose job is to educate the public about some aspect of birds.

Throughout the calendar you will see colorful custom artwork symbolizing the holidays and special events. For example, the moon phases are shown each month in a very interesting, creative way.

The Parrots At Play Calendar also features an educational section entitled “ Parrotrivia ”. This section is in a question and answer format. For example:

What are two physical characteristics that distinguish parrots from other types of birds?

Answer: The upper beak of the parrot is curved downward or hooked hence they are sometimes referred to as hookbills. Most birds have 4 toes. Parrots' toes are positioned 2 pointing forward and 2 in back providing them the ability to pick up objects with their feet while other birds such as chickens and finches have 3 toes pointing forward and 1 toe backwards.
